A Poignant Quote and its relevance today!

Whatever America hopes to bring to pass in the world must first come to pass in the heart of America. – Dwight D. Eisenhower, former US President.

I happened across this quote while searching for another quote that I had seen posted on the schedule at work sometime ago. Unfortunately, I read this quote and it is sticking in my thoughts.

How relevant is this quote for our society today? For me, an honest answer is that it is definitely relevant to our society today.

Think about how we are attempting to resolve conflicts in other countries, but yet, there are rising conflicts within our own communities.

Hatred is abounding in our culture today than it has ever abounded in previous generations.

Desintigration of American Families, rise in poverty, a failing spirit of patriotism and distrust in long held traditions and integrity of humanity.

Upon thinking about this quote, the question comes to mind: How are we to acheive peace in the world where there are conflicts when the world looks to us as a country embroiled in our own conflicts and disorder?

Even further reflection comes the thought I had heard (and problem something that some are familiar with) regarding how one needs to first ensure their house being in order before going and attempting to bring order to another’s house.

What are your thoughts? Ought we be more concerned with the welfare of our own citizens and restoring true brotherhood?

The condition of American Society and culture is saddening today. Corporations are more about how the executives are able to line their pockets at the hard work of their employees who are making the effort to produce those profit gains.

The fear of gangs that have literally taken over some neighborhoods and using such fear of violence to control those citizens.

How, we as American People in whole allow violence to overcome reason and charity.

When we loose sight of our true tradition and values, it is when we loose site of what America truly stands for.

It is time for citizens (myself included) to do what we can to bring back mutual brotherhood and bring order in our house.

And, sometimes change is hard. But unlike change, a new revolution of thought needs to rekindle the American Spirit. Essentially, we need to turn back to our own communities, our own cities, our own house and bring order where we need to bring order, stand for that which is for the good of the public and take back that which we have allowed to be stolen from us.

American Pride starts in our hearts and we need to stand as one voice against those who are attempting to destroy those values.
